This bead is considered "non-area-specific" meaning bone beads like this were found through out the viking age during all time periods and locations. such as the migrational period to late medieval time period.

These beads would be commonly used for turtle broach strings, necklaces and perhaps even things like pouches even betting/ monetary uses like trading.

Sizes are measured on the longest part of the bead with the drill size of the beads starting at 3mm and going down to 1mm for the smaller beads.
