More on Wolves:
As creatures representing elusive strength, wolves dominate many stories of Scandinavian valor and destruction. They were both revered and feared.
Respect for wolves exists in tales of the Úlfhéðnar, an elite band of warriors said to embody the fighting power of wolves in battle. Mentioned as Odin’s personal fighters, they wore wolf pelts, and due to their immense strength, “neither fire nor iron had effect upon them.”
Odin himself was said to have two wolves at his side. Their names are Geri and Freki, literally meaning greed or gluttony, or ravenous. Odin gave them all of his food at the dining table, surviving himself on wine alone.
More notoriously, the giant wolf Fenrir (a son of the god, Loki) harbors perhaps the most disdain of all creatures in the nine worlds of Norse Mythology. He is responsible for eating the sword hand of the god, Týr, and will destroy Odin during Ragnarök.
Fenrir’s pups, Hati and Sköll, will also eat the moon and the sun at this time, whom they chase about the skies each night and day.
Every necklace comes with a leather cord included.
