The jaw harp is one of the world's oldest instruments, and researchers today believe that the jaw harp spread from Asia to Europe and to Sweden during the Viking Age, and there are archaeological finds from the 13th and 14th centuries.

After comparing it to the other Jaw Harp I have from a different seller I figured out that the reed was off center and hitting against the frame so I bent it back into shape.
It can produce sound now, but still seems to have a weaker sound than expected.
I'll use it as a travel harp for my own practice, but I won't be using this for an instrument in my recording studio. Louder ones are out there for the same price.
