Beautifully made, a bit more pricy than one bought from a craft store, but I can tell this will last. Very simple, just the unfinished wood handle (perfect for me- I didn't want something with a glossy varnish on it) and the point (solid steel, more ice-pick-like than a flimsy needle), making it super easy to care for and if needed, repair down the line. I would probably recommend giving the handle a bit of a sanding with fine grit sandpaper because it is a tiny bit rough, but I like that it's left like that because it gives you more control over how you'd like it

A beautiful and high-quality handmade tool! It's got a sharp forged metal spike embedded securely in a finished wooden handle. If you're looking for a well-made awl that'll last you a long time, look no further!

Purchased as a gift for a friend who enjoys leatherworking. He is very excited about the awl's durability and was very happy to receive it as a gift. Beautiful, too!
