These unique little hair pins are crafted from solid cow bone and are based on a viking age find from Scandinavia.
Most of the large bone needles like this are often believed to be for the hair as they are typically found higher up near the head in grave findings. There is also a theory about these style of pins being used for cloaks but as far as we know this fashion declined in popularity in the later iron ages.
Averages around 6 to 6.5 inches long and 1/3 inch wide at its thickest.
This listing is for one of each hair pin (5).
