These unique little hair pins are crafted from solid cow bone and are based on a viking age find from Uppland Sweden.
Most of the large bone needles like this are often believed to be for the hair as they are typically found higher up near the head in grave findings. There is also a theory about these style of pins being used for cloaks but as far as we know this fashion declined in popularity in the later iron ages.
Averages around 6 inches long and 1/3 inch wide at its thickest.
This listing is for one hair pin.

Very neat addition to my hair stick collection! Holds the hair well and is very striking to see. I've had people stop me to comment on it
I love it! I had just recently figured out the best way to put my heavy hair into a bun without a hair tie and I decided to buy a hairstick. I absolutely love bone jewelry and accessories so this was definitely my style. The price is perfect and I definitely recommend getting this! Holds my hair up perfectly and my hair is quite heavy, so to find something in my price range and style is a dream. Seller is so nice and easy to talk to, I definitely recommend buying this item and certainly from this shop!
superb quality, super smooth and goes into my hair nicely. I have a LOT of hair, even with an undercut, and this piece holds fine!
They look nice but the tip of the hair pin is rough and pulls and breaks my hair, guess they don’t work for me.
Love the hairpin!! Very well made.
Gorgeously crafted and fast shipping!
Beautiful hairpin, but mine came with a strange blue mark on one side — the colour of blue ballpoint pen. Otherwise would receive 5 stars…
Super sturdy and doesn't damage my hair
just right for what i need
